For this weeks art activity we had to make an “automatic drawing” with a little help from a close friend. I chose to do mine with one of my best friends, Emily. Emily and i were at the library late one night and decided to do the automatic drawing there. I know this project was supposed to be done in a quiet setting so the two of us could get lost in the task at hand, but it was really interesting to see how the setting effected us and how other people reacted. Since we were in such a busy, loud setting we decided to put on some music, Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” to be specific. This made us want to dance and it’s clear through the lines and circles that were made.

I was curious to see how much of an affect the settings and music we were listening to had on our drawing so we did another automatic drawing listening to a different, slower song and turned up the volume all the way so it was the only thing we could hear. This drawing flowed much better and consisted of a lot of circles and smooth lines.

This was a very interesting experience, especially since other people were watching us (lol). At one point, during our first drawing we kinda started dancing and could feeling people staring at us, some girl turned around and made direct eye contact with me until she started laughing and asked “what the hell are you guys doing” hahaha! All in all, it was quiet fun!
